It does provide some concepts while walking one through actually creating a sample application. I would have perferred a bit more on concepts but it it gets the job done.Building Content Type Solutions in SharePoint 2007 OverviewContent types are a core concept used throughout the functionality and services offered in SharePoint 2007, and are designed to help users organize their SharePoint content in a more meaningful manner. A content type is a reusable collection of settings users apply to a certain category of content in order to manage the metadata and behaviors of a document or item type in a centralized, reusable way. If you have ever created or thought about creating document-centric SharePoint solutions, then this book is for you. It teaches power users, administrators, and developers how to use SharePoint content types and walks them through the process of creating one in a sample scenario. We're rolling out MOSS 2007, with custom site definitions, using feature stapling, custom cross site navigation, features with receivers. I've created content types, list definitions out of this book. I easily use this book more than any other. The reading is more in depth that a lot of other books that I've read on MOSS, but I appreciate learning and understanding the details. I have found that I've had to reread a chapter, or come back to a chapter to digest the information. The examples are good.
