Coby TF-TV2617 26-Inch 720p LCD TV ReviewThis television is a great deal. I was skeptical about it's HD capability until I hooked up my PS3 with an HDMI cable and altered my video settings. FUll 1080p. I now have it also hooked up to my laptop and am using it as a monitor. For around 350 dollars, Coby makes a great product.Coby TF-TV2617 26-Inch 720p LCD TV Overview

Coby LEDTV1935 19-Inch LED HDTV (Black) ReviewI bought one of these from "The Wiz" (not Amazon), but I'm reviewing it here because The Wiz no longer carries this model.
For a 19" 720p LED screen, I thought the picture was really lacking (I did get my eyes checked at about the same time, and it was not my eyes that's the problem!). Right from the start, the sound was "tinny", no matter how many adjustments I made to the Setup. So, I bought a set of external speakers with a woofer, and the sound was better. Then, after about six months, the "audio-out" (that the speakers were plugged into) stopped working. I checked the speakers on a different piece of equipment, and the speakers were fine; so, the problem is the TV unit. Of course, it's beyond the labor warranty (only 90 days), and only the parts warranty (one year) applies now; so, we'll see how much they will cover to fix this. In any case, they charge $25 for return shipping on ANY warranty work. That sucks! I would NOT recommend this product.Coby LEDTV1935 19-Inch LED HDTV (Black) Overview

Haier HLT10 10.2-Inch Handheld TV, Black ReviewThe HD picture is bright and clear, surprisingly good for a TV this small. The Black Levels are better than i expected too. The screen's aspect ratio is a bit odd - it's 16:10 (not 16:9). The screen is matte/non-reflective. The casing has a rubbery soft skin.
The digital tuner in this TV is QAM capable, and i discovered that it stores and remembers the Over-The-Air (OTA) channel map and the Cable channel map separately which is really handy. I can have it connected to TWC cable straight from the wall and watch all my local QAM "HD" cable channels and analog cable channels, then when i take it down to the garage and connect it to my UHF/VHF rooftop antenna lead, i just go into the Channel Menu and change the Antenna setting from CABLE to AIR and the previously stored OTA channel map then becomes available. When i bring it back into the house and connect it back to cable from the wall, i go into the same menu and switch it back to CABLE and all of my QAM channels become available. If you switch sources on virtually all other small to large LCD and Plasma TVs you have to re-scan for the channels every time you change sources and that takes several minutes. But with this TV it's accomplished with just a quick antenna mode setting change. To set up both tuner modes, connect it to a good antenna, put the TV into AIR mode and run a scan the OTA channels. Then for cable TV, connect it to your cable feed from the wall, put the TV into CABLE mode and run a scan for your cable channels.
The Channel menu has a Show/Hide setting where you can select or de-select any of the Cable or OTA channels that have been scanned into the tuner.
You can directly enter the actual channel number using the number keys and the dash (-) key on the remote which takes you directly to that channel (7.1 or 4.2 for instance). Do not hit the Enter key afterwards, that doesn't work for channel changing.
I can disable any unwanted channels from the "Favorites" list by unchecking them in the setup submenu and the TV will not tune to them when i'm hitting the CH+/CH- keys, but if i enter the direct channel number on the remote the TV will tune to that "disabled" channel.
The Picture Settings Menu doesn't have a Color Temperature setting, but i discovered it hiding in the Options Menu so don't be alarmed. It gives the choice of Cool, Normal, or Warm. Normal looks best to me.
The remote is a nice full-featured unit with real buttons, and takes two AAA batteries. Many other little LCD TVs have a cheap flat credit-card type remote where the membrane "buttons" crack over time. It has a Zoom key that gives you the choice of FULL or NORMAL. Both modes are available for all channels so you can always select the correct aspect ratio for SD and HD programming. See the Picture of the Remote to see all the keys it has.
The Antenna signal meter is very basic and is displayed along with other various info when you press the INFO key on the remote. It doesn't have a numeric range or any sort of strength bar - the only information it gives is BAD or NORMAL or GOOD. When a station's reception is NORMAL, there is some digital screen freezing and macroblocking so they should have labeled it FAIR instead.
It has a built-in fold-out easel stand with two lean-back settings, and it also comes with a nice removable tilt-adjustable oval-base pedestal stand that snaps into the back of the TV.
It comes with a special Audio/Video adapter cable with male yellow/red/white RCA jacks on one end, and a 3.5mm male A/V pin connector on the other end to stick into the TV's A/V Input jack (this cable is not listed as being included in the product details on the various websites so it was a nice surprise to find it in the box).--------------------------------------------------------------
Cons:
The screen resolution is 480p. It is not HD, but it does properly fill the screen when watching an HD program either through the TV's tuner, or through the A/V input from an HD STB.
Screen aspect ratio is actually 16:10, not 16:9 like a normal widescreen TV. Round things look a little oval, and people look a little thinner than they really are (as compared to how they normally look on my various 16:9 Plasmas and LCD TVs). A little irritating.
Does Not have bass or treble settings in the Audio Menu, but the tone is decent and acceptable for a small TV like this.
While i can't get skin tones looking completely accurate, they're close enough for casual viewing and don't look horrible or anything. Different channels look more accurate than others too.
The analog basic cable channels don't look very good, but that's to be expected on an LCD TV. But SD programming on the digital channels looks pretty good. HD channels look very good, except for that 16:10 thing.....
There are no Vesa mounting holes on the back or any other way to attach a wall mounting bracket to this TV.
The included antenna is virtually useless unless you're really close to the broadcast towers so don't expect much out of it. I'm 29 miles from the towers on Mt. Wilson and the antenna can't pick up a thing - and i can see the towers on the mountain. This TV needs to be connected to Cable or a good indoor or roof antenna. Some of the digital channels here in L.A. are on VHF, but most are on UHF. The TV gets a perfect signal from my roof antenna on all channels.
Be very careful when removing the clear plastic film covering the screen. It's kinda tucked under the edge of the bezel and if you just yank it off (like i did) it leaves a bunch of little pieces of film stuck around the edges of the screen. I had to very carefully pick a few dozen pieces out with my needle-tipped tweezers.Haier HLT10 10.2-Inch Handheld TV, Black Overview

Coby TFTV1913 19-Inch LCD Digital TV/Monitor ReviewI bought this TV from Brandsmart USA because I was looking for a small cheap TV to put into my dorm room that had HD. Unfortunately I didnt read correctly, but this TV is only HD-Ready. That means that if you have HD through a cable box or sat. recevier, you are fine, but if you are planning on catching HD through the air... you are out of luck. Also, after searching all over the internet to find a universal remote code, I called Coby Tech support only to be told that Coby does not release codes for its products.
My TV had a small bright patch in the top of the screen when I bought it but it was so small and I had received such a good deal that I just decided to ignore it. But when I used the S Video connection, it often times would cut in and out of picture. I returned the set, and got a replacement. Same issue with the S Video Connector again! Also the front of the second TV was cosmetically imperfect. I think Coby just uses poor quality control, if any.
I just finally threw in the towel and returned the set and went with a Toshiba.
Prices are dropping so fast on these types of TVs that I would say stay away from this and get a brand name. You will spend $50 or $75 more, but you will be glad you did. Also, just so you know in advance. Most name brands offer 1 year warranties. Coby offers only 90 days on a TV of this size.Coby TFTV1913 19-Inch LCD Digital TV/Monitor Overview

Coby TFTV1524 15-Inch Widescreen TFT LCD HDTV/Monitor with HDMI Input (Black) ReviewThis set is a bit small, but man, is it a looker. It features a built-in HD tuner for digital OTA reception, HDMI & Component connectors for hi-def media players, as well as an SVGA hookup to perform as a computer monitor. The speakers sound a bit "tinny" as could be expected, but the volume can get up fairly loud.
And hard to tell from the pics here, but its cabinet and screen have a nice looking glossy finish. The only downside is that is does have a somewhat narrow viewing range (though it has a tilting base). Otherwise, a great little unit with an excellent price tag.Coby TFTV1524 15-Inch Widescreen TFT LCD HDTV/Monitor with HDMI Input (Black) Overview

22" W HD LCD Tv ReviewI bought this several months back for my bedroom to replace my 19" analog tv that I had for decades. Initially the 22" looked smaller to me than my old RCA but I know that's not really the case. It's very lightweight, the picture is sharp and needs very little tweaking. There are plenty of ports for plugging in dvd players, game systems, etc. There is a HDMI port as well. It also has a vga port so you can plug in a computer, I've done that a few times to prove I could do it. The display was great.
The remote has sleep mode which I love. And the buttons on the remote gets you to where you have stuff plugged in. I can click Video and have my game system be on it while Computer will show my laptop plugged in. It's simplistic enough not to confuse the average person. I'm on satellite and the receiver recognized this tv very quickly.
A few things makes this review lose a star. The speakers are okay; not fabulous just okay. Since it's a bedroom and I don't plan to buy a surround sound system for them, it will have to do. The other thing that drives me nuts is if you turn on closed captioning the captions are so tiny you need a magnifying glass to read them. I've tried monkeying in the settings but I can't figure out how to make the captioning any larger. This probably won't bother 99% of the population though. I just like to have the captioning on if I have to mute the tv, but not if I have to squint or sit practically nose to nose with the tv.
Overall it's a good tv for the price. Not perfect but not the worse out there by any means.22" W HD LCD Tv Overview

AOC LC27H060 27-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV ReviewI bought this little darling at Ultimate Electronics at a super-low special price. Having never heard of this brand before I wanted to see it in person to make sure it looked okay. Walking up to the display this tv had the most ghastly picture I'd ever seen, dark and murky. We asked the salesman about it and, with a shrug, he said that's why it was so cheap and promptly pointed us to a much higher priced tv nearby. Husband promptly shifted his attention to the pricier tv but I'm a 30-year television broadcast engineer and I simply did not believe this tv could look _that bad_.
So I spent about 10 minutes tweaking the settings (the salesman couldn't find a remote for it, he claimed) using the menu buttons on the side. I didn't get it looking perfect, but close enough to convince me the store had the settings horribly messed up and the tv wasn't bad. So we bought it.
Getting it home and setting it up, right out of the box this little tv looked _splendid_. It is crisp and sharp with excellent color and definition. We also have two other HD tvs, a 63" and a 65" to compare to and I can safely say this AOC looks very good. We have it hooked up to Direct TV HD.
One picture downside--it needs to be watched at a pretty much straight-on angle. Looking at it from off to the sides, the picture deteriorates; watchable but not as good.
There are three HDMI inputs, one set of composite, one set of component, one optical audio out, one USB, one VGA, one S-video, one coax. The audio is only okay. Adequate for my purpose (a spare tv in my home office), but good audio would require an add-on home theater or stereo. The sound from the on-board speakers is clear enough but they're small speakers.
It came well-packed with plastic protective coatings on every surface, so I think it's unlikely to have out-of-the-box damage unless the box was outright smashed. It's very light, so if you're wall-mounting one person can handle it easily.

Haier HLTD7 7-Inch Handheld HDTV with Built-In DVD Player, Black ReviewGreat set with wonderful picture. Sound is weak so I added Bose Music Monitor speakers and that completely solved that problem (connected to earphone jack). Internal speakers are OK while on the go. This set is identical to one sold by Supersonic but picture quality of Haier is superior. DVD works well. Remote is well laid out and superior to the one that came with the Supersonic. The antenna connection is recessed and diffacult to get to without a wrench. I added a 90 degree screw adapter from Radio Shack and now the connection is easyly made.
Love the dvd feature and added Bose speakers for home use. Set is easy to operate and quality superior to Supersonic.
PLEASE NOTE: Set is black and much better looking than the picture showen. I have two of these units and use one everyday in my bedroom.
In my area an external antenna is required ---- I use the internal/external DIRECTIONAL dish from Radio Shack---cost about $87.00.Haier HLTD7 7-Inch Handheld HDTV with Built-In DVD Player, Black Overview

Coby LEDTV1926 19-Inch 720p LCD TV ReviewWe have standard analog cable TV in our house with no digital cable boxes needed on any of our 4 tvs. This Coby TV cannot display analog channels brightly. The picture on the HD channels was clear and bright but when watching analog channels the picture was very dim, low contrast and had muddy colors. we returned it and were very impressed with Amazon's return procedures, they were the smoothest, most customer-friendly return with prepaid return shipping and extremely fast credit back to our credit card. We were disappointed in this product, but thrilled and pleased with the outstanding customer-centric return procedures that Amazon has.Coby LEDTV1926 19-Inch 720p LCD TV Overview

Coby TF-TV1925 19-Inch 720p LCD TV ReviewI was looking for a small TV with a digital tuner to replace my REALLY old TV whose speakers were dying and my converter box that died as well. I wasn't looking for a plat screen/HD TV or anything fancy, just a plain old tv with a tuner built in, and that was in the right price range - $100-$150. I searched all the sites/stores I could think of and I couldn't find anything bigger than a 7inch screen in that price range, until I came across this one, and I have to say it is way better than I was expecting! I don't have much to compare it to, but to me the picture quality is AMAZING, the sound is WAY better than my old one, the tuner found 31 channels (compared to my conv. box that had around 8) and it has all kinds of input/output plugs so you can basically hook anything up to it from games, computers, DVD players etc... Basically I LOVE this TV and it was only $140, including free shipping - LOVE AMAZON! Way more than I ever expected to get for that price! LOVE IT!Coby TF-TV1925 19-Inch 720p LCD TV Overview

Coby TFDVD2295 22-Inch 720p Widescreen LCD HDTV/Monitor with DVD Player and HDMI Input (Black) ReviewI purchased the Coby TFDVD2295 22 inch TV to put on my computer desk down in my basement "man cave". I've found the Coby to be a mixed bag of good and not so good things. Here are my pro's and con's, along with some discussion.
Pros:
- It's packed with features ... plenty of input jacks, it reads/plays USB flash drives and SD cards, and has dual ATSC/NTSC tuners.
- The DVD player plays all formats, including both the + and - R/RW CDs and DVDs. I was leaning toward buying a costlier Toshiba unit, until I discovered that for propietary reasons, it only plays the -R CD's and DVD's, but I've been recording things using the +R format. (If you only play commercially produced DVD's and don't record your own, this is not a problem for you either way.)
- Except as noted below in my "cons" section, the HD picture is bright and sharp. (Analog pictures are somewhat less so.)
- The sound is adequate for the size and price of the TV, and there is an output that allows you to run a cable to your stereo system, if so desired.
Cons:
- The viewing angles are VERY poor. I put this unit on my computer desk over my monitor, so that the bottom of the Coby's screen is at my eye level, about three feet away, which works out to a viewing angle of less than 20 degrees to the center of the TV. The picture is washed out at that angle, and the darker colors are very washed out. I have other LCD's and this unit's viewing angle is the worst.
- The TV stand is not tiltable. I have another inexpensive, small LCD TV, and the stand was such that you could tilt the unit 15 - 20 degrees up or down. While I can't give the Coby too a big demerit on this, as most other LCD TVs are not tiltable either, it would have been nice if they had made some provision to be able to tilt the unit, especially given how poor of a viewing angle the set has. And the TV is too top-heavy for me to put a magazine or such under the back of the stand to safely tilt it myself.
- So far as I can tell, you only get one picture screen aspect. My other TVs have several different screen aspects, so that if you're watching an old format 4 X 3 analog show, you can choose an aspect that doesn't stretch and distort the picture so much. Again, this is an inexpensive TV, but not everything you watch is going to be in a 16 X 9, widescreen format.
- The unit is slow to turn on, and slow to change channels. I knew that going in, as it's a common trait among many LCD TV's, so while this doesn't bother me (much), I mention it in case this is a show stopper for you.
The TV does have a wall-mountable design (VESA 100mm x 100mm). I ordered a good VESA mount for seventeen dollars through Amazon that will allow the TV to be tilted, so hopefully this will eliminate my viewing angle problem. While I don't really want to wall mount this unit, I don't feel that the TV's shortcomings amount to something that would justify a return to Amazon.
I was looking for an inexpensive TV/DVD combo to casually watch sports, movies, and news while on my computer. While this unit fits that bill, it has problems for me primarily based on poor viewing angles. However, if you don't plan on having it close to and above you, this should not be a problem. I give this unit 3 stars.Coby TFDVD2295 22-Inch 720p Widescreen LCD HDTV/Monitor with DVD Player and HDMI Input (Black) Overview
