Hatch & Co. SKINNY iPad 2 Bluetooth Touch Keyboard Case (White) ReviewSo, I just got the Skinny for about a week and I am quite pleased with it. it's light and is so thin that it looks like a regular iPad 2 case from the outside. But it's actually a 2-in-1 case with an ultra slim keyboard built-in. It's so light; you can now have a fully functional keyboard wherever you go.
It did take me a day or two to get used to the new "touch" keyboard, which is a membrane type, meaning that is like a thin plastic, with some raised edges around each of the keys. For my review I have broken it down to two parts:
THE TOUCH KEYBOARD
It's Skinny! Enjoy the advantages of having the external keyboard without having the the bulkiness of the traditional keyboard, The thinnest part of the actual keyboard (not including the case is only 2.1mm (less than 1/10 of an inch)
Type effortlessly: the "touch" keyboard offers a new typing experience. It's like having an extension / full virtual keyboard, but now I get the full screen of the iPad to work on Keynote, Pages and Numbers, and the ability to copy, paste using the "command+C" and "command+V" shortcuts really help to boost productivity to the point that I don't haul around my laptop anymore. I can go to my business meetings and work on the go at coffee shops with the iPad only.
It's spill proof: My daughter was next to me and dropped some milk and cookie crumbs on the keyboard, and all it took was a wipe and we were good to go, since there are no hidden spaces between the keys, nothing gets stuck down there.
THE SKINNY KEYBOARD CASE
It comes in two colors: Black and white, each comes with an attractive gradation-colored keyboard.
The case has pre-cut holes for cameras; you can still use the two cameras without taking off the case.
Bluetooth pairing was a breeze, just turned on Bluetooth on the iPad, turned on the skinny keyboard, pressed "connect" and within seconds it showed up on the iPad BT list, selected and then entered the 4-digit code on the keyboard and voila! was connected.
The case offers 2 different viewing angles, one for typing and another for using as a tablet.
Another neat feature is that the iPad and the keyboard electronics will go to sleep mode when the case is closed thereby preserving power.
In summary, I am very pleased with this case.Hatch & Co. SKINNY iPad 2 Bluetooth Touch Keyboard Case (White) Overview
