Plantronics LS1 Lightweight Stereo PC Headset ReviewI purchased this headset for two reasons only: to use with Internet telephony, and to use with my language learning programs. I have been pleased, especially since it wasn't very expensive and I wasn't expecting much. Here are what I consider the pros and cons to be:
THE GOOD: 1) It is lightweight and comfortable. It is easy to adjust the headband and the boom microphone. There have been a few times where I have gone for hours without realizing that they are on my head! 2) Convenience has to be its greatest asset! It is much more convenient to use than a hand held microphone and speakers. I have been using Dialpad.com, and this headset has taken care of the echo that other people hear. It also doesn't pick up as much background noise as my other mic did. As for the language programs, it is much nicer using this headset! Now I can type on the keyboard, or use the mouse, while I am practicing my Spanish! (And my wife doesn't have to listen along with me!)
THE BAD: 1) The cord is a little bit inconvenient. The 3 meters are nice - if you like walking around while you talk. But I am almost always sitting right in front of the computer, and the cord does present itself as quite a bundle. The cord connecting the boom microphone to the headset sometimes pokes me right behind my ear, but I have been trying to tame it so that it will stay down in place, and it is starting to work now. 2) If you want to use your speakers then you have to unplug the microphone and plug the speakers back in. This probably isn't too much of a problem, unless you're like me and you have your computer crammed into a corner!
OVERALL: This was the best headset/microphone combo that we could find for this price - and it has been well worth putting up with all the little inconveniences! Go for it! CAD U2 USB Stereo Headphone with Mic ReviewMy previous headphones were an ultra-cheap set from the local generic box store. They started to irritate my ears after only a few minutes of use, so they had to go! I do a lot of gaming, and using Skype to call family members long-distance. I bought the CAD U2 headphones a year and a half ago, and still use them daily.Pro:
*Sound quality. NOT 5.1 surround sound, but very good stereo sound. Crisp high, mid, and balanced bass. Plenty loud enough to cause hearing loss(it's Bob Cramer, from Artillery!), and as quiet as you like.
*Microphone. I've compared Skype voice test with these versus the cheap set I had previously, and there is a huge positive difference with the CAD U2's. One other reviewer mentions muffled sound, and I wonder if they had the foam on the end of the microphone backwards (opening in the foam should be facing your mouth).Con:
*Ear Comfort. It took me a while to find a comfortable position to wear these. The ear pieces just barely cover my ears {which are small). They are not large enough to go around your ears.
*Head Comfort. There is no padding on the top of the headphone band. I have the headband size maxed out and position it somewhat forward so it lays as flat as possible.Other:
*Noise blocking. While not noise-canceling, they diminish background noises enough to make it impossible to understand my wife speaking from 10 feet away. At least as far as she knows. :}
*USB connection. If you use a sound card, you will probably not be looking at these instead of surround-sound headphones. On the other hand, it's a good thing in case your headphone or microphone jack is already occupied or doesn't work.
Not the most comfortable headphones out there, and not surround sound. Good quality, durable, does the job. I can't justify spending 3 times the money for something else, and I would buy these again today.CAD U2 USB Stereo Headphone with Mic Overview

Cyber Acoustics AC-850 Internet Communication USB Stereo Headset and Boom Mic (Black) ReviewI don't know if it's all USB headsets or just this one but it has a couple of really good points:
First of all you have the ability (in your Control Panel under Sounds and Audio Devices) to set up your sound were anything using voice recording or playback exclusively uses your headset where as all other sounds go through your main speakers and any recordings you'd like to make can still be done through your other microphone without having to change settings every time you'd like to make an internet call or voice chat.
Next the audio quality and mike response is not exceptional but it's still really good. The noise cancelling works well and allows you to talk without completely muting your voice.
Over all its pretty solid and I'd recommend it to anyone over a headset you have to plug into your sound cards audio out and mike jacks.

iMicro SP-IM942 Headset with Microphone ReviewPros: This is an inexpensive piece of electronic equipment that does the job. The sound quality and mic placement are great for gaming and internet phones. The price is very low, adding to the value. It has a volume control which helps when switching from one application to another, since sound levels can vary on the computer.
Cons: The foam over the mouthpiece comes off very easily (for cleaning, apparently.) I would prefer that it didn't fall off when I didn't intend that.
